Football!

Yes, fall is finally here and football season is finally back in full swing!  This past weekend the Deacs and the Dawgs had a great day with 2 conference wins!  Whoohoo! 

As usual, our weekends are full of football and Charlotte has already been to 2 games this season!  She went to the WFU vs. Gardner Webb game a few weeks ago and had a great time tailgating with some of our friends and her cousin Tripp.   It was surprisingly cold for mid-September and we had to break out our new hats for the 6:30 pm game. 

This past weekend Charlotte finally made it to her first Georgia game!  After our attempts had been derailed by pneumonia, bad weather, and late game times last year, we finally made it to Athens! 

On the way, we stopped in Clemson on Friday to visit our friends Sydnie, John Thomas, and Griffin Horton.  Charlotte and Griffin were fast friends and we can’t wait to see them again soon!  Yorke was at Ryan’s parents’ house and wasn’t with us. 

We also spent the night in a hotel and it was the first time Charlotte got to sleep in a bed and not the pak-n-play.  It was very exciting!  She even got to eat a cookie in bed.

On Saturday we headed to Athens with Gigi and Ga and the weather couldn’t have been better!  It was a gorgeous sunny day and just beautiful!  Charlotte was decked out in her new cheerleading outfit and bow.  She was so excited and was literally hoarse after the game from yelling for the Dawgs so hard.  She loved screaming “Goooo Dawgs!  Sic Em!  Woof Woof Woof!” and waving her shaker!  She’s the 5th generation to watch the Dawgs play in those seats so it was a special day for all of us. 

Checking things out in Sanford Stadium.  It’s just a little bigger than Groves.  Try 60,000 seats bigger.  She was wide-eyed taking it all in.  She was extremely impressed with the Redcoat band and their formations.  Wake’s band isn’t nearly as big so it was a bit of a new experience for her. 

Unfortunately this was the only group shot we had.  Gigi is getting Aunt Carole in the picture and I think the timing was off a little.  We’ll get a better one next time. 

She ate 2 entire hot dogs while we were there and had a great time visiting with the folks who sit around us.  It was a great day!
